EDITORIAL
March is a special time for all of us creative souls. It’s National Craft Month! This month’s issue of Remnants Magazine is dedicated to celebrating the joy, unique expression, and the therapeutic benefits of crafting. Whether you’re a seasoned craft enthusiast or you’ve just discovered how good a ball of clay feels in your hands March offers the perfect opportunity to get started. Pick up those paint supplies and cross stitch kits you purchased on an impulse and be inspired.
This month is not about a single craft. I hope to help you take that first step or try something new. Together we will explore home and garden decor projects and no-sew fashion ideas that can be done by any crafter on a limited budget. We will also touch on the ongoing debate of craft vs. fine art. Of course, we can’t forget that with Spring’s onset comes holiday crafts and that means something for the kids.
They say “March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb.” Let’s tame that lion with knitting needles and use that lamb’s wool for ethically sourced yarn. Crafts are be best way to beat the cold weather and keep kids off those devices.
In the spirit of National Craft Month, I also encourage you to share your creations with Remnants. Submit your crafts to be featured in Remnants or simply tag us on social media. The point of this magazine is to engage with the community and see the amazing creativity of others.
So, let’s welcome March with open arms and craft supplies at the ready. Happy National Craft Month!
