Sonya Barbee started YardGirl Creations in Washington, DC in the early 1990s as a graphic designer. She has since expanded her creative endeavors to include art, illustration, handmade books, upcycled fashions, photography, and crafts as creative expressions from her unique perspective. In 2024 she published her first full issue of Remnants Magazine to encourage people to live their authentic lives with creativity and respect for others. Sonya has relocated to Baltimore, MD.
